Course Overview
The Live Patient Treatment Experience is a two-day small group event for those who have already taken the Adhesive Rehabilitation and Tooth Preparation course.
During this course, you will have the opportunity to partake in hands-on sessions and observe Dr. Ortiz and Dr. De Carvalho as they treat a patient live from beginning to end. The training will take place in a new state-of the art dental education facility in Beverly Hills, California.
Course Objectives
DAY 1 CONTENT
Hands-on #1: You will learn how to confidently create and modify a putty matrix to successfully transfer a Smile Design the mouth.

DAY 2 CONTENT
Hands-on #2: In this two day event we will all do hands on. We will dedicate an entire 4 plus hours on the most comprehensive Dental Isolation Lecture and Hands On session that you have ever experienced. We will begin with a comprehensive lecture and then continue with several hours of hands on practicals. This will take place on a typondont with all the materials and instruments necessary at your disposition. You will learn why, when and how to apply and actively modify instruments and clamps to achieve success in dental isolation. All the ins and out of isolation delivered to you and then practiced by you.
About the Instructors
MIGUEL ORTIZ, DMD
Dr. Miguel A. Ortiz began working in the dental industry as a Dental Technician in 2002 after graduating from one of the only two year ADA accredited programs in California State. During the next 8 years he both worked and studied full time in Los Angeles, receiving a B.S. Biochemistry with Honors from California State University. He was recruited to Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he won the Leo Talkoy Award for excellence in clinical dentistry and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, (DMD). Dr. Ortiz went on to become a prosthodontist at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2017.

CARLOS DEL CARVALHO
Dr. Carlos Del Carvalho received his dental degree from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Itaúna, Brazil in 2003 and has achieved the status of Master in the University of Siena, Italy in 2008. He got the PhD degree at the Bauru School of Dentistry /University of São Paulo, Bauru.
Carlos de Carvalho maintains a full-time private practice in Salvador/Bahia, Brazil with a special interest in esthetic dentistry and Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry.
He has lectured both nationally and internationally on continuing education courses for colleagues on topics of operative dentistry and prosthodontics. He has numerous journal articles published in peer-reviewed publications.
